I would like to invite you to a screening of one my films Just For Kicks (2006) at the NYPL, by the Lincoln Center, this coming Friday October 29, 2010. Just For Kicks won 3 Best Documentary Awards following its initial release and was featured on 5 continents from 2005 to today. It has been seen by an estimated 50 million + viewers and has grown to become a staple of pop culture and urban fashion culture.
This screening is part of the New York Public Library's series "Perspective in Fashion" and Lisa Leone, J4K's director, will be present with myself to answer questions from the audience after the screening.
I will be also showing a 5mn teaser of my upcoming documentary film about the relationship between women and shoes titled God Save My Shoes (GSMS) and directed by Julie Benasra, with the support of Canal+.
GSMS features interviews of fashion icons Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Bruno Frisoni and Robert Clergerie as well as music stars Fergie, Kelly Rowland, burlesque artist Dita Von Teese and many collectors, historians, marketing people and shoe obsessed women (and men) from Milan to Paris, New York, Toronto and Los Angeles. GSMS will be released in the the spring of 2011.
